Our Instructors

Kieran O’Hare is a highly respected and sought-after performer of Irish traditional music on the uilleann pipes, concert flute, and tin whistle. In 1994, Kieran received the honor of being the first American-born player of Irish music invited to perform in the annual ‘Ace and Deuce of Piping’ concert, held in Ireland’s National Concert Hall. Since then, he has made countless
appearances at festivals and concerts in North and South America, Japan, China, and Europe.

Among the many artists with whom Kieran has performed, toured or recorded are MickMoloney and The Greenfields of America; Cape Breton fiddlers Jerry Holland and JP Cormier; Nashville songwriter Gordie Sampson; Irish vocalist Danny Doyle; the Milwaukee Symphony Orchestra; the Cincinnati Pops Orchestra; Bonnie Raitt on VH1 Storytellers; The Paul Winter
Consort; Josh Groban; and Don Henley.

He made his Carnegie Hall debut in 2010 as a soloist with the New York Pops Orchestra and most recently, with Liz Knowles, Kieran toured the world for over four years as musical director, contractor, and performer with the France-based show Celtic Legends. Kieran serves on the Board of Directors of Na Píobairí Uilleann in Dublin, Ireland, an organization dedicated to the
preservation and promotion of uilleann piping worldwide.

Hailing from sunny Tallahassee, Florida, Michael Stribling is an award winning Uilleann Piper and Irish musician. In County Cavan, Ireland he competed and won the title of “All Ireland Champion” on the Uilleann Pipes at the Fleadh Cheoil na Eireann.

Michael has spent a significant part of his formative years in Ireland and England performing and studying traditional Irish music, he was mentored by the piping great, Jerry O’Sullivan. His style exhibits technical punctuation with a rhythmical drive, and is heavily influenced by the music of Uilleann piping master, Patsy Touhey.

He regularly joins the Internationally touring Irish bands Fullset and Runa. In the last few years, Michael has taught at Tionóls and piping workshops in California, New York, Missouri, Connecticut, and Florida.

In 2014, Michael added the traditional Irish element for renowned country music artist Trace Adkins’ Celtic Christmas tour, performing on Uilleann pipes, flute and whistle When he isn’t playing music, Michael competes in Ironman triathlons across the United States.

Emmett Gill is a tremendous piper based in Ireland.  Born in London in 1976, Emmett started on the pipes with the London Pipers’ Club in 1983, and attended tionols and summer schools in Ireland.

Emmett's great interest for early recordings of Irish music on 78s and cylinders is quite obvious in his choice of material and his emulating settings from master players from the 1920s and 1930s.

He has regularly taught for Na Píobairí Uilleann and served as a board member from 2011. His professional background is in administration and financial services.

Emmett has made two CDs, The Mountain Groves (2007) and a duet with fiddle player Jesse Smith The Rookery (2012).
